Merchandising
Our expert merchant teams partner with their insights, planning, marketing, and digital counterparts to ensure the right mix of products for Walgreens customers – when and where our customers need them. Whether it’s through our consumables, seasonal and gifting products, health and wellness products, or beauty and personal care products, these teams make an impact on the products that enrich our customers’ lives each day.

Marketing
Our marketing teams are an integral part in making sure our products, programs and company image remain fresh, appealing, and top of mind to consumers everywhere. This includes everything from our Balance Rewards loyalty program, television ads, weekly circulars, in-store advertising, and consumer behavior research.

Internship Overview
The 10-week summer internship program at our Corporate HQ in the Chicago area will provide you the opportunity to own a project directly aligned to a key corporate initiative, while developing your analytical, communication and leadership abilities. You will learn about the business by visiting a distribution center and flagship store, participating in lunch & learns with senior leadership, and competing with your fellow interns in a summer-long case study. You’ll also have fun at frequent social events to allow you to network with managers, mentors, team members and interns from across the company.



Compensation is competitive and summer housing is provided for those who qualify.

Opportunities after MMIP
Upon successful completion of the internship, interns have the opportunity to apply to the Merchandising & Marketing Development Program. This program is designed to develop people with the abilities and acquired insight to eventually be the future leaders of Walgreens Merchandising & Marketing businesses. Through four six-month rotations in marketing, category management, customer insights, merchandise planning, visual merchandising, and more, you’ll build a tool set to help accelerate your career.

Who are we looking for?
  • Current college juniors with a strong academic record (3.0 GPA minimum)
  • Majors in Marketing, Supply Chain/Operations, Finance, or Communications with an interest in Retail
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience writing reports and presenting
  • Intermediate skills in MS PowerPoint & Excel, and experience analyzing data
  • Creative, personable students able to demonstrate strong leadership and teamwork
