SOMETHING IS MISSING!
|
Posted By: Ann Mack on November 16, 2017 November 6, 2017 Revised November 11, 2017 Things are happening all around us – like never before - to get our attention to encourage change! But, not just on the outside; from the inside out! Due to constant interference, we have allowed iniquity to cloud our judgement and push us further away from God. We have allowed our desire to succeed out of a place of power, control and greed to overwrite our sense of Godly principles which have, unfortunately, been replaced with worldviews. Society, unfortunately, creates the culture and culture dictates the pace or norm regarding what is acceptable. Culture is also responsible for dictating where and how value is placed regardless of moral righteousness. God doesn’t see just one viewpoint. HE has a standard and considers each individual to be of equal value and importance to extend compassion towards ALL! COMPASSION: If someone shows kindness, caring and a willingness to help others, they're showing compassion. GREEK: splagchnizomai (σπλαγχνίζομαι) - to be moved in the inward parts; deep within your soul to include your heart, lungs, liver, etc. HEBREW: rahamim originating from the word rehem or Racham meaning womb. More often than not, many words have been redefined to make its meaning less significant and subjective. The word compassion in our present day culture as defined in many dictionaries denotes, to show pity. In another, it states sympathetic pity. But, it is much more than that and needs to be re-evaluated in how it should be applied! What about putting yourself in the place of God to view compassion more along the lines of showing love or extending love to another; to love and show mercy? What about simple co-suffering or bearing the burden(s) of another to intercede (pray) for them? Words should not be redefined to remove the intent of uniting people to care one for another about their mental and physical state. There is a GREAT DIFFERENCE between man's narrow-minded definition and an action of compassion; especially, when we should have CHRIST-LIKE compassion one towards and for another! We all want compassion, grace and mercy; but, when it comes to extending the same towards others, there is a very serious disconnect. We must do more to show love to one another. People are hurting and something is missing! Take time to ask questions and make yourself available to lend an ear or a hand. A simple hello and occasional conversation to encourage hope. Speak life, liberty and FAITH!! MATTHEW 22 36Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
