REALLY?

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. ~ Philippians 4:6

I talk to God, often, about EVERYTHING and I very seldom leave anything out! I know without a doubt that he knows my heart, but it has been extremely important to me to openly express my feelings to include just how disappointed I am with people and their unethical value system within an increasingly unstable world system fueled by hate and indifference. I'm, literally, sitting, observing and digesting it all in disbelief of the blatant defiance and double standards. I actually see what others don't think I see to understand what the truly arrogant don't care if I see because to them, I simply don't matter! He who sows injustice will reap [a harvest of] trouble, and the rod of his wrath [with which he oppresses others] will fail (Proverbs 22:8, Amplified).

Each and every person in this world as created by God is EQUALLY important to HIM. HE does not diminish your value based on your age, gender, race or your profession. In fact, the title or the position you hold has no bearing on what HE thinks of you! God encourages us to not only have confidence in HIM, but in ourselves as well to know and appreciate our worth. However, not to the point of us disregarding the worth and importance of each other.

Romans 12:3 as taken from the message Bible demonstrates this point best and states: I’m speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me, and especially as I have responsibilities in relation to you. Living then, as every one of you does, in pure GRACE, it’s important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you. The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him. Simply expressed another way as referenced in the King James Bible, it states: For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. And yet, many of us attempt to take advantage of others based on an unwritten, unlawful and unmerited value system in thinking that we have every right to assert inappropriate power and control in the name of who we think we are! NOT TRUE!

If you were to access the Office of Personnel Management's website to review the topic of classification, you would see how positions are weighted to determine salary and importance. However, in the same manner in which the desired outcome of performance ratings is manipulated, the writing of various position descriptions are also manipulated and devalued in association with the person occupying the position. Have you ever noted how an individual is regarded in a particular position as people fade in or out of that same position? Men and women in the same position and title are oftentimes paid on a different scale in the same manner as the pay scale differs between races - even today. Historically speaking, men have been paid higher wages than women in some cases while Caucasians have been paid higher wages than people of color performing some of the same tasks and sometimes expected to do more. Sure, many reading this will be quick to tell me that what I see is incorrect; but I know from experience that my observation is right on point! I'm simply not expected to speak about what I see and I’m even less expected to write about it! He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous, BOTH of them alike are an abomination to the LORD (Proverbs 17:15).

Women like African Americans during slavery have been encouraged and conditioned to know our place; speak only when spoken to and be mindful of what to say or how to behave for fear of being met with great retaliation and limited in various job categories or fields! Even after obtaining the right education.

Nonetheless, women have attempted to address the disparaging difference in how they have been treated and devalued in comparison to men for quite some time, but their cry for change and justice has continuously fallen on death ears. Do you remember the woman who attempted to get the courts to appeal on her behalf for a restraining order against her domestically violent husband while the presiding Judge, a man, dismissed her urgent plea? Not long after that her husband tracked her down at a cellphone company in Clinton, Maryland where he threw gasoline on her and set her on fire. Currently, in the news, women – and some men who have found themselves to be in the same position - are coming forward to speak about the abuse (sexual assault and harassment) they have endured at one time or another.

To repeat a tweet by Rose McGowan, she stated many were aware of what she had experienced but she was encouraged to keep her mouth shut and toe the line if she wanted to succeed in her career as an actress. How many people within your surrounding environment are aware of the injustices committed against you, but turned on you and treated you as if you had the plaque or had done something wrong? Yes, it hurts! And, overtime, you push onward to grin and bear it while becoming numb to it all! For that reason alone, I understand why she took the money! No one wanted to listen or sympathize with her enough to take her side in attempting to address her claim. So, yes, she took the money for the pain, suffering and humiliation which I’m sure still did not justify the act committed against her. Why? Because justice did not prevail until now; long after others came forward to vindicate her TRUTH! Does anyone remember Anita Hill?

In the words of James Brown, this is a man's world - BUT, it wouldn't be anything without a woman or a girl. Receiving very little credit for holding families together, women have been the glue in various aspects or arenas throughout history; in the home, office or boardroom while maintaining (still standing) and enduring all types of abuse! We are daughters of the most high God who sits up high and looks down low. Please don’t think that HE has tossed us aside and forgotten just how precious we are to HIM. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power (Ephesians 6:10). TIMING IS EVERYTHING and things are being revealed (uncovered) and brought to the surface! This is just the beginning! Be still (Psalm 46:16)!
