Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on January 11, 2018 The Department of Family, Youth and Community Sciences at the University of Florida is now accepting applications for our second cohort of students in the Youth Development and Family Science doctoral program. Our program is a good fit for people who want a career that focuses on reducing the disparities that create unwanted outcomes for young people. We have a focus on prevention science and one important aspect of our work with youth is that we see youth development in the context of the family and the larger community. We are able to offer assistantships. The deadline for priority funding for applicants is January 15. You can learn more here: http://fycs.ifas.ufl.edu/phd-program/ FYCS has a diverse and dedicated faculty, who are committed to providing an outstanding graduate education experience for students in the YDFS doctoral program. For more information about our faculty and the doctoral program, please visit these pages on our website: http://fycs.ifas.ufl.edu/faculty and http://fycs.ifas.ufl.edu/phd-program/, respectively. The University of Florida is an AAU institution located in Gainesville, Florida, which is centrally located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, about two hours north of Orlando. In addition to the outstanding academic, cultural, social, and sports opportunities at UF (Go Gators!), we are close to a variety of natural gems, such as springs, hiking and biking trails, county and state parks, and lakes, all of which can help students maintain a healthy and balanced life: http://www.visitgainesville.com/get-outdoo...
