Hamilton wins Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week
Posted By: Elynor Moss on February 05, 2018 After averaging over 20 points per game and leading the Wiley College men's basketball team to a victory over the Red River Athletic Conference leader, Joshua Hamilton (JR/New Iberia, Louisiana) wins his second Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week award. Hamilton also won for November 27 to December 3. His honor is Wiley College's 21st – which leads the Red River Athletic Conference. On Friday, Hamilton led all scorers with 20 points to lead the Wildcats to a 94-76 over Red River Athletic Conference leader No. 18 Our Lady of the Lake University Friday. He made five 3-pointers in the game and also added seven assists and five rebounds. In Saturday's victory over Huston-Tillotson University, Hamilton led all scorers with 26 points to led Wiley College to an 82-66 victory. He scored 15 of those points in the second half. Hamilton made five 3-pointers. For the week Hamilton hit 53.5 percent of his shots and 47.6 percent from 3-point territory. Hamilton leads the conference in points per game at 21.5, one-point higher than second place. He ranks in the top 5 in field goal percentage (52.4), 3-Point FG percentage (44.9) and 3-pointers made per game (3.0). In the NAIA, he ranks eighth in points per game, ninth in 3-pointers made, top 30 in 3-point field goal percentage, top 40 in free throw percentage and field goal percentage.
