Attendees can pick up pre-registration packets and event tickets.

Campus Tours
11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Manley College Center, Upper Concourse
Stretch your legs and take pleasure in a walking tour through campus to learn more about your student’s home away from home.

Lunch
11:30 a.m. - 2:15 p.m.
Manley College Center, Alma Upshaw Dining Hall
Everyone is invited to an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. Family members $7.00. Students use their meal plan.

Student and faculty projects will be displayed, and we have small take-aways for the Spelman community that show off some of the capabilities of our makerspace tools. Upstairs, enjoy an interactive digital installation, and downstairs, mingle and catch up on what our outstanding students and faculty are working on in the lab.

BLK 3000
Fine Arts Dramatic Performance

BLK 3000 is a devised piece that will use the form of clown, long form improvisation and movement to tell the story of what blk life/blk thought/blk body/blk space will look like in the year 3000. With foundational readings from Baraka-Teer-Lorde-Sanchez-Morrison-Sun Ra-Lauryn Hill- Badu and more, students will explore the afrofuturistic themes of blk life in the early 1900s, the 60s, and now in order to craft the future to come.

There have been some significant changes to the housing process for upper classmen. The housing department will review the changes and answer your questions.

Navigating Campus Career Center
Resources that Lead to Student Success
Facilitator: Harold Bell, Director of Career Planning and Development

Spelman students are exposed to a multitude of both employment and graduate/professional school opportunities. Subsequently, it is not uncommon for them to not only develop a number of diverse interests, but an equal number of unique questions as to how to clarify, pursue, and determine which career path they should take. This session will share with parents the resources available on campus to assist their student in charting a career path from matriculation to graduation. Special emphasis will be placed upon the Office of Career Planning and Development, the Health Careers Program, the Dual Degree Engineering Program, and the Sister2Sister Mentoring Program.

Revised Admissions & Enrollment Policy
Facilitator: Dr. Fran’Cee Brown-McClure, Dean of Students

The College has recently revised its admissions and enrollment policy to include transgender students. This session will provide information about the implementation of the policy and educational information.
