Alabama State University’s Theater Production of ‘Noises Off’ - a Comic Peek Behind the Curtain this Wednesday
|
Posted By: Reginald Claremont on March 05, 2018 WHEN: This Wed. - Saturday (March 7-10), @ 7 p.m. nightly WHERE: ASU's Leila Barlow Theatre in the Tullibody Fine Arts Building (on N. University).. Alabama State University‘s Department of Theatre Arts will present one the funniest plays ever, “Noises Off,” from this Wed. - Saturday (March 7-10), at 7 p.m. nightly in ASU's Leila Barlow Theatre, which is located in the Tullibody Fine Arts Building. Anyone who sees “Noises Off” should brace themselves for an evening of pure comic chaos when they watch the follies of theatre folks in the play written by Michael Frayn and directed by ASU’s Nathan Jacobs. A show-within-a-show, audiences will see a cast of beloved characters, including a frazzled director who begs, yells and threatens; confused actors who forget lines, miss cues and mishandle props; and too many backstage (and onstage) shenanigans. Tickets are $12 for general admission and $6 for ASU students with a valid ID. They may be purchased online at www.alasu.edu. Discounted tickets for groups of 10 or more are available. To purchase tickets at the theatre, please note that the Leila Barlow Theatre box office opens nightly one-hour before the curtain goes up. For more information on the play or tickets, call 334-229-6929. If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
