The Campus Minister for Christian Diversity and Ecumenical Ministry provides ministerial leadership and vision to ensure opportunities for faith formation and religious practice among non-Catholic Christians at the University of Dayton. Serving students with a range of Christian backgrounds and experiences, this minister animates Campus Ministry's mission to foster spiritual growth, build the faith community, educate for justice and peace, and develop gifts for servant leadership with an emphasis on ecumenical engagement and connecting students to local denominational resources as appropriate. Key to success is responsiveness to cultural diversity among students in programming, worship, and pastoral care (especially with respect to the Black/African American Church experience). Provides weekly worship and creative programming such as retreats, scripture study, discipleship support, prayer/reflection events, student leader development, and other opportunities for student faith formation. Advises faith-based student religious organizations and fosters collaboration among them. Provides pastoral care to students, faculty/staff. This minister animates the Catholic and Marianist vision of the University through ministry across Christian traditions as an active collaborator on the 34-person Campus Ministry team, fostering partnerships with Student Development and other university faculty/staff and working closely with the Christian leadership, vocation, and retreats ministry team. The University of Dayton is a Top Ten Catholic research university, founded in 1850 by the Society of Mary. The University seeks outstanding, diverse staff who value its mission and share its commitment to academic excellence and the development of the whole person, and leadership and service in the local and global community. This is a ten month position (August - May) with full benefits. Salary commensurate with experience. Start date August 1, 2018.
