FAMU Launches Annual FAMU Rising Fundraising Campaign

Posted By: Hija Chang on May 29, 2018 On May 25, 2018, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) launched a new annual fundraising campaign to increase funding for student scholarships and student success initiatives, as well as strengthen athletics, arts and history programs. The goal is to raise $6 million by the end of 2018. The campaign is being formally introduced during the FAMU National Alumni Convention in Orlando this week. Aligned with the University’s 2017-2022 strategic plan, the FAMU Rising Fundraising Campaign aims to enhance FAMU’s national competitive position, producing highly-trained professionals with undergraduate and graduate degrees in even greater capacities. Championing the motto, “Together We Rise,” the FAMU Rising Campaign will focus heavily on alumni giving and will also include a renewed focus on community and corporate engagement. “We are very excited about the outlook of the FAMU Rising Campaign,” said Shawnta Friday-Stroud, Ph.D., interim vice president for University Advancement. “This campaign not only unites the fundraising efforts of the University but also aims to unite the entire FAMU community around our strategic areas of focus, including student success.
