As a support manager of MoveOn’s 2018 down-ballot program, you will support the team in their efforts to identify, endorse, support, elevate, and work with dozens of inclusive, diverse, progressive candidates who are running for state and local offices–with an emphasis on young people, people of color, women, poor and working-class people, members of the LGBTQ community, immigrants, Muslims, and other identities underrepresented in the halls of power. Responsibilities: Help track candidate identification, vetting, and endorsement process through maintaining databases and spreadsheets, including researching candidates through partner websites, social media, and member outreach to compile a spreadsheet of prospective candidates. Work with candidates directly to maximize MoveOn resources in their campaigns through Election Day, including coordinating direct donations and digital ads, drafting volunteer recruitment and fundraising emails, organizing days of actions, and providing general campaign advice to candidates. Work with MoveOn members to support endorsed candidates by elevating races to their radar and providing MoveOn members opportunities to join state and local campaigns as key volunteer leaders. Work closely with other MoveOn teams to look for opportunities to work together and work with our legal and compliance teams. Help in sharing on-the-ground stories from MoveOn members and endorsed candidates in social, local, and national media through articles and videos.
