|
Posted By: Anica Oaks on August 02, 2018 If you want to become a doctor, the chances are you’ve already looked at all the things you need to do to make it a reality. There are many things you can do to prepare for medical school. Get Lab Time As soon as you realize the pre-med track is the way you want to go, think about lab time and getting it in as much as possible. You should have classes where you get lab time and use that to further expand your knowledge of science and math. Start Working on Academics Early It’s never too early to start getting excellent grades. Even if you’re still in high school, keep your academic scores up to increase your chances of becoming a doctor. Prepare for the MCAT It’s never too early for a private MCAT tutor. The MCAT is difficult so getting as much time in with your tutor will help you save time studying. It will also increase your chances of getting the score you want on the test. The best scored students are the ones who get into medical school! Know Your Path If you have an idea of what you want to do, you can start setting up a path for success right away. Knowing your path toward medical school graduation can help you make the right choices for your career in the future. It will also help you save time when you’re trying to figure out what the next step is. You won’t have to flounder if you know your path. Job Fairs Can Help Attending job fairs and health fairs while getting your name out there as much as possible can set you up for success in your future. Even beyond medical school, you might want to make sure people have heard of you! Think about Funding Medical school is expensive. Know how you’re going to pay for it. Start learning about the FAFSA and other funding methods you can use to make sure you’re prepared to pay. Be Well Rounded All of the medical school preparation in the world won’t mean anything if you’re not well-rounded. Medical schools like to see people who know how to balance work and life. Get involved in clubs, sports and activities to increase your chances. Medical school can be grueling. You need to make sure you’re prepared for anything that could happen in the future.
