ASU Gameday Info: Know Before You Go
Posted By: Elynor Moss on August 27, 2018 This is just a friendly reminder that our first home football game is Saturday, September 1 against Tuskegee University. Kick off is at 5 p.m. If you have plans to attend the game here are some important tips and information. •Your Alabama State football gameday information resource for all traffic, parking and tailgating needs. ASU Gameday social media accounts •Alabama State University and Alabama State Athletics Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts have been created to give you up to date ASU Gameday traffic, parking, weather and gameday information. •Be sure to check all social media accounts for any gameday updates on weather or any other game delays the week of. Student Parking •Since classes will be in session during the game, please keep your Student ID's on you at all times. You will need your ID to access the main entrances to campus and student parking at the Acadome. •All students are asked to park their vehicles in the front parking lot of the Acadome (Lot V) during all home football games. The parking lots along south University Drive (MLK-PEYTON FINLEY-BESSIE BENSON-ABERCROMBIE-BEHIND BIBB GRAVES-CYNTHIA ALEXANDER- on SOUTH UNIVERSITY DRIVE, between R.C. HATCH HALL and WEST UNIVERSITY DRIVE) will also be available for student parking during home football games. •On game day, all students are asked to enter the campus by way of the STUDENT GATE, located at Carter Hill Road and West University Drive (Cynthia Alexander Apartments) - across from the Tennis Courts. Students are asked to have their vehicles moved to the student parking areas by 5 p.m. on Wednesday before the Thursday home football game. •For more information, contact Campus police at 334-229-4717. Hornet Gameday complimentary parking and shuttle •ASU is offering complimentary parking and shuttle service for both public and students. All parking for the shuttle service will take place at Patterson Field with pick up and drop off services on Glen Palmer. •Olde Park will have available parking and is a shuttle stop. •There is limited parking in the neighborhoods, so please be mindful and use the shuttle locations above. •There will be branded signage to direct you to the public and specific permitted lots for parking. •ASU Gameday maps have been created to simplify and explain how to best plan your ASU Gameday experience. ASU Tailgate Policy •Security will monitor the tailgating lots to maintain that there is no noise between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m. Game Day Stadium Access Tips •All season ticket holders must properly display parking passes visibly in vehicles. Also, follow directional signage leading to the appropriate lot •Hornet Walk will begin at 2:50 p.m. in the tailgate area between the baseball and softball fields. •Please be sure to visit Vendor Valley located directly in front of the ASU stadium. •All students, potential recruits and high school coaches enter at Gate E. •All Media, Season ticket holders, Club Lounge and Suite Level guests enter at Gate D. •General admission guests and tailgaters enter at the main stadium gates A, B, and C or the upper ramp entry point above Gate D. •General Admission entry on the North Side (visitors) must enter at Gate H and I. •Game day workers, please make sure you have the appropriate credentials for the area you are in or job being performed. •Sideline access is prohibited without appropriate credentials. •No metal seats, wood seats or umbrellas are allowed in the ASU Stadium. •What's not allowed in the stadium: ◾Chair backs LARGER than a single seat (16 inches wide) ◾Coolers ◾Weapons ◾Artificial noisemakers (bells, horns, whistles, cow bells, etc.) ◾Outside food and/or drink ◾Strollers ◾Umbrellas ◾Video recorders or camcorders (only exception is certified media) ◾Computers ◾Cameras with telephoto lenses over 6 inches long •The ASU Clear Bag Policy is strictly enforced (see details below). ◾Clear bags and the appropriate game day chairs may be purchased from the Sting Shop within the ASU Stadium Ticket Box office.
