The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) is the state’s flagship research institution, a campus of choice for outstanding undergraduates, and a premier graduate institution. Enrolling more than 28,000 students, the campus is located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in beautiful East Tennessee. As a land-grant university, UTK fulfills its access mission through a commitment to excellence in learning, scholarship, and engagement. The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 150 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, One Stop, Financial Aid and Scholarships, University Registrar, and EM Communications. General Description: The Assistant Vice Provost (AVP) for EM Operations will be responsible for the development, implementation and assessment of data driven strategies that inform and support the Division of Enrollment Management and the University’s undergraduate strategic enrollment plan. Additionally, the AVP will oversee efforts to improve processes and related policies, increase efficiencies and effectiveness across the Division of Enrollment Management in daily service efforts and long term enrollment strategies. Duties and Responsibilities: The AVP will ensure that the Division is effectively leveraging technology, utilizing data for decision making at all levels, implementing well researched and innovative business practices, documenting all policies, practices and procedures, maximizing vendor relationships, and strengthening operational practices between the Division and campus partners to meet institutional enrollment goals and improve the student experience. The AVP will supervise multiple units, including the University Registrar, Financial Aid and Scholarships, One Stop, EM IT staff, the EM Research and Analysis team, and will oversee daily systems and operations for the Division. Operational oversight includes but is not limited to the Division’s CRM, application and scholarship processing; technology needs, initiatives and integrations. This position bears responsibility for high-level strategic planning as well as oversight for technological and operational integrations that support recruitment and retention goals. Acting as a collaborator and consultant, this individual will work with EM Leadership, staff across the EM Division as well as closely with campus partners, academic departments and external consistencies to meet the short and long term goals of the division.
