Lebanon Valley College invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Actuarial Science career!

Posted By: Hija Chang on September 07, 2018 FEATURED Content The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Lebanon Valley College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of actuarial science. The teaching load is two courses per semester (Fall/Spring) for the first year and three courses per semester after that. The department has successful majors in mathematics, actuarial science, analytical finance, and computer & data science, which allows for the opportunity to teach a variety of classes. Working in those rapidly changing fields, the College’s agility encourages the department to experiment with new ideas. Therefore the department seeks a colleague who is flexible, intellectually omnivorous, and eager to engage in varied roles. The successful candidate will also assist the department in developing an actuarial research program. S/he will teach in department and service courses and share the College’s commitment to helping students achieve their goals by working with them inside and outside the classroom. S/he will also join the department in service as well as service to the broader campus. LVC has had a successful actuarial program for more than 50 years and the College is proud of that success. For example, over the last three years, actuarial science seniors have passed an average of three actuarial exams each.
