Join us on Tuesday (Sept. 11) at two separate events that honor the victims, sacrifice and heroism, which occurred on September 11, 2001 when America was attacked. The first event is a 10 a.m. 'Ceremony of Remembrance,' that is open to the public, which will be held at the ASU flagpole, which is located between Councill Hall (it houses the President's Office) and Patterson Hall (it houses the Air Force ROTC detachment). The second event is an 11:30 a.m. special luncheon to honor the firefighters and first responders of Montgomery's Fire Station Number-6 (across from Jackson Hospital/Forrest Avenue), which is open to the news media, but is closed to the public. Fire Station - 6 was chosen to symbolically represent all of America's first responders whom we honor for past and present heroism and sacrifice. They symbolize "Greater love, no man hath, than to lay down his life for a friend." Join us and get some incredible photos, video and news as ASU's participates in the nation's remembrance of 9/11. Both events are sponsored by Alabama State University's Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreational Therapy (HPER).
