Alcorn State University rises in two 2019 U.S. News & World Report ranking categories
Posted By: Reggie Culpepper on September 11, 2018

Alcorn State University’s popularity amongst students continues to rise, as the university continues to be one of the nation’s most recognized institutions of higher learning.

Alcorn State University ranks number 21st on U. S. News & World Report’s Best Historically Black Colleges and Universities list for 2019. The University also climbed to 35th on the Top Public Schools Regional South list, and it rose to 89th in the Best Regional Universities South category, jumping six spots from last year’s ranking.

U.S. News & World Report is a multi-platform publisher of news and information, which includes target=_blank>www.usnews.com and annual print and e-book versions of its authoritative rankings of Best Colleges, Best Graduate Schools and Best Hospitals. In 2012 U.S. News launched a conference division focusing on important national conversations and solutions in STEM Education and Healthcare of Tomorrow.

Interim President, Dr. Donzell Lee is proud of Alcorn’s consistent accolades, which he believes is due to the commitment of the University’s dedication to distinction.

“Alcorn has become synonymous with success,” said Lee. “Our students, faculty, and staff pride themselves on their ability to push Alcorn beyond expectations. We are also proud of the contributions of our faithful alumni. It is personally gratifying to see Alcorn thrive against great odds. We exude excellence, and we will continue to strive for greatness.”
