Oprah Introduces Michelle Obama at Kickoff of ‘Becoming’ Arena Book Tour

Oprah Introduces Michelle Obama at Kickoff of ‘Becoming’ Arena Book Tour
Posted By: How May I Help You NC on November 14, 2018

Michelle Obama launched her ‘Becoming’ Arena book tour with her special guest Oprah Winfrey before a crowd of 14,000 at the United Center in Chicago on Tuesday.

Oprah introduced her bestie who walked out onstage wearing a sheer white blouse over tulle white tailored pants. The former first lady and Oprah spent 90 minutes talking about her memoir which dropped the same day.

Ticket holders paid upwards of $5,000 to see Oprah and Michelle. They also purchased Michelle Obama T-shirts emblazoned with her face and the title of her book.

Michelle spoke about her husband, former President Barack Obama, saying she cried for 30 minutes after Obama handed the country over to newly elected President Donald Trump on Inauguration Day 2017.

“When I got on the plane, I sobbed for 30 minutes,” she said. “I think it was just the release of eight years trying to do everything perfectly.”

She said she turned to Barack, telling him, “That was hard, what we just did. That was so hard.”

The former first lady said she didn’t mention that moment in her book.

But she did write about Trump questioning Obama’s birthplace, saying Trump’s “loud and reckless innuendos” put her family’s safety at risk.

Fact check: Hillary Clinton started the Obama “birther” rumors during her failed campaign for president in 2007, when she said Obama was born in Indonesia.
