Black Founders Create Health & Fitness Platform for the Black Community
|
Posted By: Richard Bailey on November 28, 2018 With 34M Black adults in the United States, the Black community is disproportionately affected by several health issues such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. But do you know just how severely we are affected by these issues? According to studies, 76% of us are either overweight or obese, and 43% of us have high blood pressure. This is why entrepreneurs Richard Bailey and Christopher Ketant created GrpFit. GrpFit is a health and fitness startup using technology to improve the health of the Black community. Through the use of the GrpFit app, they are providing users with all of the tools and resources needed to start, share and complete their health and fitness journey. Their mission is to help alleviate some of the deadly health issues in our community by offering an easy-to-use health and fitness app, which is first of its kind in our community. Here are some of the exciting features of GrpFit: - Get guided workouts that vary in levels of difficulty, styles and lengths of time. All workouts require little to no equipment needed that you can do at anytime and anywhere. - Share text updates, photos and videos related to your health and fitness journey. - Read articles dedicated to particular topics such as weight loss and diet and nutrition. - Connect with others who have similar interests. Health and fitness is easier when you have a community of people behind you who look like you and live similar lifestyles as you. Both of which you can find on GrpFit.
