Building a Beard? 4 Techniques for a Terrific Trim

Building a Beard? 4 Techniques for a Terrific Trim
Posted By: Anica Oaks on December 19, 2018

Your beard is a part of your overall image and sense of style. That means that you need to keep it well-groomed. Whether you have worn a beard for years or just started your facial-hair journey, here are some techniques that you can use in order to get a terrific trim each time.

Preparation

Before you trim, there are a couple essential steps to prepare your beard. First of all, you need to shampoo and condition your beard. This will ensure that the hairs are clean and aligned so that you can get a more even cut. Brushing will also help you with the trimming process. Additionally, you need to plan for all that trimmed hair. If you don't use a drain catch while you're performing your trimming activities, your drain could become clogged and you may need to hire a plumber for drain cleaning services.

Shaping

There are a variety of styles that you can select when it comes to creating the perfect bread for your face. Select the right tool for the job. For example, you may want to use an attachment on your electric razor that will allow you to control the length of your beard that you want to trim.

This will also help you to get the look that you want and still keep an even edge for other areas.

Neckline

Taking the time to remove unwanted hair from around your neckline can be a time-consuming task. This may be a task that you need to perform every few days or even once a week. Many men will simply shave their neckline in order to get that crisp edge from the rest of their facial hair. Start with the leading edge of beard and work your way down the rest of your neck to remove any unwanted hairs in the process.

Oiling And Combing

Applying oil to your beard after you've trimmed it will help to restore some of the body that it lost during the trimming process. Combing it out will allow you to check and make sure that you didn't forget about any stray hairs. Apply a small amount of oil on your beard and distribute it with the comb. Continue to work it in until it's even and looks more natural.

Getting a great looking beard isn't something that happens automatically for a lot of guys. It will take effort and using the right tools in order to get the job done right. Use these tips so that you can have the beard that you've always wanted for yourself.
