With a focus on entrepreneurial zeal and technical expertise, the leading professional organization for Historically Black College and University Students and Graduates, HBCUCONNECT.COM, recently partnered with tech giant Google X, ‘The Moon Shot Factory’ to host a VIP hiring event for black professionals. The event was held at Google X headquarters in Mountain View, CA, AKA, Silicon Valley! X, is an Alphabet Company and includes other innovative tech companies like Google, Loon, Waymo, Wing, and Chronicle.

The evening started out with a bang, as early guests congregated with high energy in anticipation of a great evening of networking in the Google X reception area, while event teams finalized setup activities. “This is going to be a great night based on the excitement from all of the early candidates coming through the doors”, said, President and CEO of HBCU CONNECT, William Moss.

With a well-attended event of over 100 African American professionals, the X Team kicked off presentations as candidates heard from many black leaders within the X Company, capped off by an inspiring “Go Big or Go Home” presentation by Astro Teller, CEO of Google X.

Astro matched the vibe of the entrepreneurial company as he rollerbladed into the event in style!

Google X, a leader in solving world problems with innovative technology solutions and the people to match, is looking to hire more diverse professionals to join their efforts to change the world by offering high paying career opportunities. Partnering with HBCUConnect.com allows the company to tap into a huge audience of diverse professionals, many of which attend or graduated from a Historically Black College or University.
