Stomp the Yard Actor/Singer On Alabama State University
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on March 26, 2019

WHEN: Wednesday (March 27) @ 2:30 p.m.
WHERE: ASU's William Harper Councill Hall, room 216.

Alabama State University's music business students will get up close to one of the entertainment industry’s power-players, when former rapper turned actor Kelvin Harris, aka KChill, comes to ASU on Wednesday (March 27).

KChill (Harris) will speak at 2:30 p.m. in room 216 of the University's William Harper Councill Hall.

The Racine, Wisconsin native, who now lives in Atlanta, is the founder of Feed the Hungry USA and the CEO of ChillZone Entertainment, which created the Atlanta Actors Awards.

His movie credits include “Stomp the Yard,” “Daddy’s Little Girls” and “3 Can Play That Game.” Harris’ recording “The Amplified Album,” a mix of hip-hop/rap and Southern Style music, can be found on CDBaby.com.

ASU's Dr. William Ashbourne, an entertainment attorney and the coordinator of the Recording Industry Program at ASU, said his students will benefit from Harris’ industry connections.

“Our future leaders in the music business, tomorrow’s actors and entertainers, will have a business networking opportunity, as well as possible internships if they attend Wednesday's session with KChill on campus,” Ashbourne said. “They can learn the most effective means by which to attain success in this very competitive industry by meeting with him here at ASU.”

KChill joins the list of nationally recognized music business professionals and entertainers that Ashbourne has brought to ASU to lecture, including Grammy Award winner Tank; radio personality D.J. Envy; Grammy Award winner Trey Song, and music producer D.J. Toomp.
