Posted By: Will Moss on April 01, 2019

The Congressional Research Service (CRS) is recruiting students currently enrolled in an advanced degree program to apply for its 2019 Graduate Recruit Program. For 2019, this competitive program offers opportunities for a librarian and a technical information specialist and for several research analysts across a variety of issue areas including energy policy, income security, African affairs, international trade and finance, and defense logistics.

CRS works exclusively for the United State Congress, providing policy and legal analysis to committees and Members of both the House and Senate, regardless of party affiliation. As shared staff to congressional committees and Members of Congress CRS experts assist at every stage of the legislative process—from the early considerations that precede bill drafting, through committee hearings and floor debate, to the oversight of enacted laws and various agency activities.

As a legislative branch agency within the Library of Congress, CRS has been a valued and respected resource on Capitol Hill for more than a century. Its highest priority is to ensure that Congress has immediate access to the nation's best thinking on public policy issues of interest to its Members and committees.

A complete listing of positions, eligibility requirements, and salary information is available on the CRS Careers website: http://www.loc.gov/crsinfo/opportunities/g... Application instructions and selection and evaluation criteria can be found in each vacancy announcement. Applications must be received by April 17, 2019.

The Graduate Recruit Program seeks to attract a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates. Women, minorities and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
