Posted By: Hija Chang on April 08, 2019 Requirements: We’re seeking a highly organized, personable individual with strong writing and discriminating reading skills to provide administrative support to the office in general as well as specific support to several literary agents with both nonfiction and fiction lists. Administrative duties include answering phones, routing contracts, event planning, updating databases, managing foreign tax forms, managing the agency website, and assisting with basic client management. Duties also include reading submissions and queries, co-managing the agency unsolicited queries account, helping to prepare manuscripts and pitch letters, targeting and assisting in the pursuit of new clients. The ideal candidate would be a highly motivated multitasker with excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. We are looking for someone who is a creative problem solver, a self-starter, a quick learner, and effective at time management. Tech savviness and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and BAITS, as well as prior publishing or agenting experience are a plus but not a requirement.
