DELAWARE STATE UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCEMENT TO NEW AGREEMENTS WITH TWO CHINESE UNIVERSITIES
|
Posted By: How May I Help You NC on July 01, 2019 Delaware State University has expanded its Chinese partnership portfolio by signing two new agreements during a recent trip to China by University President Wilma Mishoe and other officials. The University established a new agreement with Beihua University in Jilin, China, to establish a joint English Language Institute. Initially, the institute will be established at Changchun University of Science and Technology in the upcoming fall, and later it could be launched at other possible locations in China. In the accord – signed by Tony Boyle, University Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management, and JiZong Qi, Vice President of Beihua University – the institute will be for Chinese high school students who seek to improve their English skills in order to enroll in a university or college in the United States (including Delaware State University), as well as for students who simply want to improve their English capability. The University also established a new cooperative agreement with Northeast Normal School to work with that school to establish and Educational Leadership Doctoral Program (Ed.D) there. University President Wilma Mishoe and NENS President Lyu Yinghua signed the new accord, through which NENS doctoral students will do part of their Ed.D work at NENS, and travel to Delaware State University for three summer sessions as well as a one semester each in the fall and the spring. Doctoral students who successfully complete the program will be awarded an Ed.D. Degree from Delaware State University. "We are very happy about the new agreement with Beihua University, which enables us to offer the ESL/English Language Institute. We are equally excited about the establishment of our Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) Degree Program at Northeast Normal University,” Dr. Mishoe said. “There has been a tremendous request for both of these programs, and we are pleased to be able to assist in fulfilling these needs."
