4 Jobs That are Influenced by Growing Online Sales
|
Posted By: Anica Oaks on July 31, 2019 E-commerce is about so much more than online shopping. Many real-world positions and physical businesses can expand and evolve by growing sales online. Taking full-advantage of the digital era will allow business owners to take their companies in a modern direction and increase their profits in unprecedented ways. As online sales continue to grow, many industries and careers will change to match consumer needs. Here are four jobs that are going to experience major upheaval as e-commerce becomes the new norm. MarketingMany companies may bring a marketer on-board for the first time when they decide to expand their offerings online. Growing a business digitally and attracting the right customers isn’t easy, and a marketer in the 21st-century must have a solid understanding of online practice including Facebook ads, pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns, e-commerce advertising and search engine optimization (SEO) strategy. The diverse skill set needed by professionals can be overwhelming for individual business owners to take on, which makes e-commerce and tech-savvy marketers highly sought after. Customer ServiceAnyone who has worked in retail understands the importance of quality customer service. In today’s automated, digitized world, many companies lack the human component that’s so imperative to customer satisfaction. Behind every online sale is a real person, and a business’s customer service has to match human for human. Although there are chatbots that can assist with everyday inquiries, digital shoppers need customer service representatives that are easily accessible, highly informed and eager to help making the online shopping experience every bit as satisfying as the physical equivalent. Warehouse JobsWarehouse jobs are on the rise as online stores demand greater inventory and faster output. Warehouse jobs will need to be streamlined, and more people may find themselves entering the labor force as the demand for passionate, dedicated and physically-able warehouse workers increases. Since 2000, warehouse jobs have risen 90-percent. All the merchandise people purchase online has to come from somewhere, and warehouse workers around the world make e-commerce possible with their packaging and shipping expertise. DeliveryEqually important as shipping and handling, delivery drivers and personnel are expected to gain increased job opportunity as online sales increase. Companies that do not currently offer online sales and want to keep everything in-house will need to bring in at least one or two drivers who can ensure that customers receive their orders on time and in perfect condition. Expanding Your Business OnlineEven in just the last 10 years, growing a business online has become extremely difficult. Market research, advertising and content creation are all major components in online success. Breaking into the e-commerce industry can be a challenge for even successful companies. Bringing in the professionals early-on will make it easier to rapidly grow an audience and streamline your online sales funnel while increasing the scope and scale of our business.
