Clinton College Going Back to School with Aladdin as New Dining Services Partner
|
Posted By: Clare Rizer on August 12, 2019 Aladdin, a member of the Elior North America family of culinary management companies, in conjunction with Clinton College, a historically black college located in Rock Hill, South Carolina, on Friday hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its selection as the college’s new dining services partner and the freshly renovated campus dining destination, New Millennium Café. New Millennium Café will feature Aladdin’s freshly prepared signature branded concepts and will include a wide selection of menu items at each meal, including homestyle entrees, made-to-order deli sandwiches, hot grill items, oven-baked pizza and a fresh salad bar. The concept will also offer vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and allergen-friendly culinary options and freshly baked treats. Clinton College President Lester A. McCorn said the new dining program will deliver greater variety, options, change and choice for students, faculty and staff, and the refreshed and modern look of New Millennium Café appropriately signals a new beginning in both cuisine and hospitality management at the college. “One of the reasons the Aladdin team was drawn to Clinton College is because of the college’s commitment to ensuring its students have opportunities to thrive beyond the classroom,” said Trenna Grice, Director of Business Development at Elior North America. “Like Aladdin, the Clinton team recognizes how vital it is for students to have inspiring places to eat, work, create and imagine, and we believe New Millennium Café 2.0 will offer exactly that.” In addition to the renovations, as part of the partnership Aladdin plans to: • Connect local vendors and businesses with the campus community by creating events and programs like a possible farmers market. possible farmers market. • Schedule and host cooking demonstrations that showcase local restaurants and chefs • Offer health- and nutrition-focused classes for both the college and community throughout the year and educate students, faculty and staff about healthy local initiatives. • Spearhead “Dining for a Cause” contests or food drives to collaboratively and consistently give back to the community. “Aladdin has been an extraordinary partner in the planning and execution of our new dining hall space,” said President McCorn. “Their management and staff bring an excellence in food preparation and service that will benefit our college tremendously and represents our mission to serve our campus with ‘Excellence without Excuse.’” The agreement with Clinton College builds upon Aladdin’s strong relationship with historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) across the country. “We are pleased to help usher in this new era for Clinton College and look forward to the beginning of an exciting new school year,” said Grice.
