Widener University is hiring: Assistant Professor of Biology

Posted By: Hija Chang on August 19, 2019 The Department of Biology at Widener University seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position in microbiology and immunology or a related field to begin August 27, 2020. Teaching responsibilities will include upper-level microbiology for biology majors, upper-level courses in the area of the candidate’s specialty, and introductory microbiology lecture and laboratory courses for nursing majors. Candidates must have a high potential for undergraduate teaching and are expected to engage undergraduates in an active research program. Laboratory space is available in our modern biology facilities. The successful candidate must have completed a Ph.D. by May 2020, although 1-2 years postdoctoral experience is preferred. The Biology Department is committed to fostering an environment in which faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive. Candidates should describe their experiences working with a diverse range of faculty, staff and students. Candidates who can contribute to a climate of inclusivity in their teaching and research are encouraged to elaborate on their potential to support the Biology Department’s commitment to diversity.
