Assistant/Associate Professor - Community/Applied Social Psychology

The Department of Psychology at The University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position, starting September 2020, in the area of Community Psychology or Applied Social Psychology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in social, organizational, and/or community systems, with a social justice focus.
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to diversity dynamics (e.g., related to race, ethnicity, gender identity, **** identity, socioeconomic status, [dis]ability), power, or marginalization, particularly within organizational and community settings. We welcome applications from candidates who conduct quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods. We consider diversity a strength and encourage applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain an active program of research, including pursuit of external funding.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses
- Contribute to our graduate programs;
- Supervise theses/dissertations
- Engage in departmental and university service.
- Candidates must have a PhD in psychology or a related field at the time of hire, and an established record of publication.
- Applicants at the Associate Professor level: a history of effective teaching and student mentoring, conducting and publishing quality research, and extramural funding are required as well as evidence of continuing potential in each.
