WHEN: Tonight (Monday/Dec. 2), at 6 p.m. WHERE: First Baptist Church at 347 North Ripley St. - across from the MPD headquarters. The public and the news media are invited to attend and cover tonight's (Monday/Dec. 2), Citywide Commemoration of the 64th Anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which is sponsored by Alabama State University's National Center for the Study of Civil Rights & African-American Culture. It begins at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church that is located at 347 North Ripley St., which is across from the MPD headquarters. The event will contain music, historical recollections and a keynote address by Dr. Julius Scruggs. Tonight's event is the end of the several citywide commemorations of Rosa Parks' brave stand for freedom, and the establishment of the 381-day Montgomery Bus Boycott, which ended segregated busing in Montgomery and gave birth to the modern civil rights movement in America.
