4 Things High School Juniors Can Do to Get Into the School of Their Dreams

If you want to highly increase your odds of being accepted to the school of your choice, here are four things you need to do during your junior year of high school. Get Involved with ClubsCollege recruiters want to see students who are actively involved. If you haven’t already done so, consider joining some clubs and teams in your high school. By doing just a little research we’re sure that you’ll discover your school has many more clubs than you would ever have thought they would. Just pick a few that interest you and get involved. Achieve Excellent GradesAsk anyone and they’ll be able to tell you which subjects in high school are their best and which ones are their worst. You can settle for just having okay grades in some classes but it can hinder your ability to get into the college you want. Instead, get yourself some high performance tutoring for the classes that you are having difficulties with. Identify the College Admission RequirementsTo get into the school of your dreams you need to first meet their admission requirements. Do a little research online to discover what you need to have. Most schools will list a specific GPA and SAT scores that you must have to be considered for admission. When you know what these are, you can ensure that you’re getting above the mark. You don’t want to wait until your senior year to discover that your scores aren’t high enough to get into the college of your dreams. Learn More About the CollegeMany college admission recruiters will ask you why you want to go to school at their specific college. In most cases, they’re looking for specific examples of why their school is your ideal choice and what you can contribute to them. Take some time to learn about the history of the college. Meet up with current students and ask them about their college experience so far. Talk with some of the college professors. The idea is to get a feel for the college and how you will fit in to make it a great place to be. As a high school junior, you’re likely considering just where you want to go to college. There are many things you can do to prepare yourself to get into the school of your dreams. The above four are the most imperative to your success.
