As an intern with the Career Development team within HR, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work on talent solutions related to the team member’s career journey through research, process improvement recommendations and best business practices. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work directly with our HR professionals to collaborate on various projects that directly affect the business, analyze areas of the talent lifecycle to provide recommendations, and assist with special projects or assignments. Some of the areas of focus for this internship may include:
Internship Program Summary The Walgreens summer internship program is an experience you won’t forget! Our internship program is focused on you, the student, and building your professional skills and experiences to help you prepare for a transition from student to team member. From professional development activities to hone your skills to networking opportunities to help make new connections, you’ll build a base in navigating a professional environment, all while working on real projects within your primary department that actually impact and support the business! Additionally, you’ll participate in a tour of one of our Chicago flagship store locations, as well as visit a local distribution center to help you see the full impact our areas have to help support our retail stores and drive our commitment to our patients and customers. We know that a happy team member requires a balance between work and social activities, which is why we also have fun events planned to help you get to know your peers, as well as have an opportunity to participate in an impactful community service project. Throughout the summer you’ll have the support of a manager and mentor, prepared to guide you through your everyday work and those involved in the internship program. Rounding out our program, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a cross-collaborative business impact project through the 1X Innovation Competition, where students are partnered in groups and tasked to develop an innovative solution to helping Walgreens business continue to thrive!
