4 Reasons to Start Investing In SEO

4 Reasons to Start Investing In SEO
Posted By: Jamichael Mitchell on March 26, 2020

Online research is the first that most people do when considering making a purchase. Every day, there are more than 3.5 billion Google searches, and that number continues to grow. Consumers rarely make buying decisions without searching Google first. They want to see reviews on products and services and know they’re getting the best deal. If your website doesn’t rank in Google’s search results, then you’re missing out on a valuable and important opportunity to get your business in front of potential customers. The internet is here to stay, and therefore, so is SEO.

SEO is a long term sales solution

SEO is not a paid advertising method of business - unlike paid advertising. If we do SEO for our website and gain high rank for our business targeted keywords, and stop work after ranking, the site will not lose rank instantly. It may keep rank for many years. When your site gets rank in Search Engines Result pages (SERPs), it’ll automatically generate quality full huge traffic or customers to your site for a long time.

SEO is very cost-effective

Every business wants to market its products and services to customers at a fraction of the cost. Unlike in the past where businesses had to set up huge marketing budgets with the goal of outdoing their competition, today businesses want to use a fraction of that.

As the founder of an Black-owned marketing company, I’ve built our business model around offering cost-effective marketing services to local businesses. Not only do we have the skills and knowledge to come up with sound strategies to improve your organic traffic but we will do so at an affordable rate. In the past, businesses relied solely on traditional marketing campaigns like posters, pamphlets, brochures, business cards, TV and radio ads among others.

This was too expensive even today and furthermore, it did not yield the results businesses are looking for – attracting both local and global customers. Thankfully, SEO services eliminate the need of setting up 6 figure marketing budgets making it a cost effective strategy.

Your competitors have invested in SEO

Your competitors are probably already investing in SEO. More now than ever, brands are getting smart to what it means to operate online. They know that SEO is a long term game and make sure to set part of their marketing budget aside for it. If you examine your top three competitors and notice optimized metas, a healthy link profile, and increasing organic traffic: They are probably investing in SEO.

To get an idea of what your competitors are doing, use tools like Uber Suggest to see how many keywords they are ranking for and what pages on their website are responsible for those keywords. Ask yourself, "Do we have something similar on our website?" Better yet, ask, "How can we do it better?"

SEO will help your brand become more reputable

In order to rank high on search engines, it is important that your website is actually helpful. This may seem too simple, but most websites on the internet do little to provide real value to visitors. Google monitors your website’s visitors to see how they interact with your site. For instance, Google follows people that click on your link in a search result and then click on other links in the same search. Because of this, it is important that the information you have on your site is useful.

If a lot of people click on your site, and then click back and click on other sites it can lower your page’s rank on the results list and you may fall back into the abyss of the internet. The more helpful your website is, the longer people will stay on it, and the more Google begins to recommend you as trustworthy. Over time, this builds authority and higher rankings. When you invest in SEO, you are investing in your reputation, too.
