Microsoft HBCU CONNECT Virtual Hiring Event to Feature Keynote from African American Tech Leader Rich Neal

Microsoft HBCU CONNECT Virtual Hiring Event to Feature Keynote from African American Tech Leader Rich Neal
Posted By: Will Moss on June 05, 2020

A steadfast champion of diversity and inclusion at Microsoft and beyond, Rich Neal brings his passion for people, equity, business impact and leadership to the projects and roles he has taken on over the last 18 years at Microsoft. Currently, Rich is a Sr. Director on the Microsoft Business Operations Planning & Launch team where he leads the Product, Offer & Pricing (POP), Readiness and Infrastructure team focused on ensuring the effective and efficient prioritization and implementation of commerce and operational changes that lead to positive customer and partner commerce experiences.

Previously, Rich held several roles within Microsoft’s Customer Service & Support business. Early in his tenure, he was part of the Xbox Live Launch Team where he was accountable for the global billing support experience. In Rich’s first Microsoft leadership role, he led a globally dispersed team responsible for defining and managing tools and processes supporting the Customer Service business. He then moved into Devices & Entertainment Support where he led release management and learning and development functions.

Rich believes that collaboration and positive employee engagement with a focus on customer outcomes makes all the difference when landing critical changes for Microsoft’s customers and partners.

Over the last several years, Rich has developed leadership development, hiring, and retention programs that increased the African American representation at Microsoft, both at the individual contributor and leadership levels. Rich's commitment to diversity and inclusion earned him a nomination of the Blacks @ Microsoft Inclusion Leader of the Year Award. This nomination demonstrates Rich’s trailblazing thought leadership in the D&I space and the positive impact he has had on colleagues throughout his career.

In his free time, Rich finds great joy in sharing his life with his wife, Carolee, and four daughters, Shalese, Aleeya, Jaiya and Mya, along with supporting his community. On occasion, Rich has been known to spend a minute or two looking for rare sneakers to add to his collection.
