Two Local Entities Donate 2,000 Masks for Montgomery Residents in Partnership with Alabama State University to Combat COVID-19!

Masks donated by Montgomery chapter of The Links, Inc. and Beauty & Beyond, Inc. Purpose is to help combat COVID-19 locally.

WHEN: Wednesday (June 24) at 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: ASU COVID-19 test site; parking lot at the intersection of S. Jackson and N. University Streets.
NOTE: The wearing of masks is required and social distancing will be enforced at the news conference.

Join us at Alabama State University on Wednesday (June 24) at 12:30 p.m. as President Quinton T. Ross, Jr. accepts 2,000 masks that are being donated to Alabama State University and its partners; the Alabama Department of Public Health and the Montgomery Housing Authority.



The donation comes from the Montgomery (Ala.) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and Montgomery's Beauty & Beyond, Inc. for free distribution to Montgomery residents to combat the spread of COVID-19.

The masks will be distributed at the walk-up/drive through ASU COVID-19 test site located on the campus of ASU at the intersection of S. Jackson and N. University Streets. They will be distributed by the ASU Health Center staff where free testing is open and available to the public on both Wednesday and on Friday; from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Additional details about obtaining the free masks and about free COVID-19 testing will be provided and released on Wednesday at the event.

Joining President Ross on Wednesday will be representatives of ASU's testing partners, as well as the Montgomery chapter president of Link's Inc., Ann Sippial.
