Congrats to Ahmed Musa - Hired at HBCU CONNECT's Recent Microsoft Virtual Hiring Event!

Posted By: Will Moss on September 11, 2020 Ahmed Musa is a Software Developer and Data Scientist in the Pacific Northwest that was working for Boeing over the last 10 years until his recent engagement with the folks at HBCUCONNECT.COM and Microsoft. In May of 2020, Microsoft reached out to HBCU CONNECT to launch a hiring event to bring in more Black Software Engineers to work for a variety of teams within the company. HBCU CONNECT, having worked with Microsoft to effectively recruit tech talent hosting events all of the country, decided to launch an event targeting Black Software Engineers on the west coast and right in Microsoft's backyard, Seattle, Washington. "Our recruiters and talent sourcers always tap into the HBCU alumni market for our diversity recruitment events, but when we are looking to fill roles in areas where there is not a strong HBCU presence, we reach out to non-HBCU grads through our relationships with professional organizations as well as our large network of Black professionals on Linkedin and other social networks" said Will Moss, CEO of HBCU CONNECT. Moss remembered the interaction with Ahmed personally... "We reached out to Ahmed Musa via our external network, and invited him to participate in a couple of our Microsoft events, and to everyone's delight, he decided to join us." Ahmed attended the events with Microsoft and HBCU CONNECT virtually due to the COVID19 Pandemic, and was successful at landing an interview with the hiring team at Microsoft. He accepted a job recently and excited about his new career!
