Howard Grad Creates 'I Heart My HBCU' to Help HBCUs Around the Country
|
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on December 09, 2020 Dominique King is a Howard University graduate and the Founder of I Heart My HBCU, a round-up mobile app designed to allow users to donate their spare change to any of the 104 HBCUs around the country. After launching the app back in 2017, King has been striving to help all HBCUs get the funding they need from within their own community. "When creating this app, it was important for me to encourage HBCU Alumnae to support all HBCUs. Users can easily adjust how much or how little of their spare change they share to their five favorite HBCUs," says King. According to the I Heart My HBCU website, the application enables graduates, and anyone else who believes in the legacy of these great institutions, to donate spare change and volunteer time to show some love to HBCUs. Find out how you can download the app and support the cause here: https://www.iheartmyhbcu.org/.
