The Highest Ranking Female in the US Armed Forces, Jacqueline Van Ovost, Visits Delaware State University

Van Ovost, the highest ranking female in the U.S. Armed Forces, paid Delaware State University a visit on Dec.8 to speak to a group of its Aviation students Gen. Van Ovost – the only current female four-star general in the U.S. Department of Defense – spoke in the Dr. Daniel **** Hanger at the Dover Airpark, home of the DSU Aviation Program. In addition to the DSU students, there were also ROTC cadets from the University of Delaware in attendance to hear the general. In her address, Gen. Van Ovost talked about the major influences on her career and encouraged the students and cadet to become major influencers for people who work alongside them and for people who come after them. She also shared information about some of the opportunities that are available in the U.S. Space Force. Gen. Van Ovost is currently the Commander of the Air Mobility Command, which executes air mobility missions in support of the joint military forces, allies and partners with a fleet of almost 1,100 aircraft. Dover Air Force Base is one of the Air Mobility Command installations that comes underunder Gen. Van Ovost’s oversight.
