Posted By: Kennedy Williams on December 14, 2020 Early four dozen of the nation's top companies have joined together to fight the economic imbalance Black people face in this country. Companies like Target, Nike, Delta, Allstate, and AT&T have formed a group called OneTen and have vowed to hire and invest in 1 million Black Americans over the next ten years. The OneTen website describes the effort as "changing the way we do business so we can cultivate a thriving, equitable society" through "a coalition of leading companies taking measurable action that creates immeasurable possibilities for generations to come." The coalition is led by co-founders Ken Frazier, chairman and CEO of Merck, and Ginni Rometty, executive chairperson of IBM. This organization is not only seeking Black talent to hire, but they are also calling on talent providers and other major companies to join their efforts. Determined to cultivate "a comprehensive system that focuses on skills-first and enables greater opportunities for earned success," OneTen is set to benefit Black professionals nationwide.
