4 Fun Activities Students Can Enjoy with Roommates Without Leaving the Apartment

You don’t have to go out to have a good time though. There are many ways to have fun and make memories with your friends at home in your student apartment. Whether you’re staying home because of the COVID-19 pandemic, bad weather or a lack of funds, try these four fun activities with your roommates to have a great time without leaving the apartment. Game Night From chess and checkers to Twister and Speak Out, board games have long been a source of low-tech entertainment. Get silly with modern games that have participants risking pies in the face or cleaning up doggie doo, improve your spelling with Scrabble or learn to manage money with Monopoly. If your roommates are into roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons, hold your own apartment-wide tournament. With so many options to choose from, even your game-hating roommate can have a good time. Psychic Reading What does the future hold? Put your phone on speaker and call a psychic line to find out. Ask for a group reading, and let your friends take turns asking questions. Your psychic session can be as serious or light-hearted as you want. Seek answers about your love lives, your grades for next semester or get in touch with family members on the other side. Baking Contest Your roommates gather around for their favorite baking show every week, so why not have your own baking contest in your apartment? First, have each roommate create their favorite recipe. Then, gather everyone around the table for a taste test. Vote for the winners by secret ballot, and award a prize to the best baker. Craft Project Break out the pipe cleaners and popsicle sticks because crafts aren’t just for kids anymore. Gather around the coffee table and create holiday decorations, homemade gifts or just something fun to display on your bookshelf. Get serious by carefully following a tutorial, or make it a party by passing around snacks and drinks. You can even make humorous or adult-themed crafts for a good laugh. Although there are many ways to have fun at home, sometimes just hanging out is the best way to spend the day. Don’t feel pressured to organize activities every day. There’s nothing wrong with popcorn and a Netflix marathon or spending the day surfing the internet on your couch.
