Posted By: Kennedy Williams on December 29, 2020 A new partnership between Missouri State and HBCU Central State will allow more undergraduates to pursue higher education through an accelerated program. According to a press release, both schools signed a Memorandum of Understanding that says CSU students will have the opportunity to take graduate-level courses at MSU in 33 various areas of study while still earning their undergraduate degree. MSU President Clif Smart spoke of the monumental program saying, “With this partnership, CSU students can complete their bachelor’s degree, while at the same time jump-start the process of earning a top-quality master’s degree from MSU. This will save them time and money and support their future academic and career success.” CSU President Jack Thomas also spoke on the matter and said, “It’s an honor for Central State University to partner with Missouri State, a university that aligns with our values and mission, which is focused on empowering students and campus community members to become global citizens who influence society for the better. It certainly warms our hearts to partner with them as we develop the next generation of innovative leaders.” The accelerated program is slated to start in the fall of 2021 and will allow CSU students to start taking courses towards a master’s degree starting as soon as their junior or senior year.
