The Windward School is Hiring Teachers! APPLY NOW!!!
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on January 13, 2021 Windward School, a grade 7-12 college-preparatory independent day school in vibrant West Los Angeles, seeks an experienced and innovative educator to join a forward-thinking faculty. Windward teachers and administrative leaders continually seek out effective teaching practices and educational initiatives to help its students and faculty pursue their passions, engage with relevant curriculum, and lead meaningful lives. Windward’s mission, as a college-preparatory school, is to challenge each student to achieve academic excellence in a nurturing environment. Windward teachers, parents, and administrators work as a team to encourage each student to be responsible, caring, well-informed, ethical, and prepared, and well-balanced young adults. The Math Department is looking for a dynamic full-time teacher (5 sections) to join their collaborative team. They teach with a focus on growth mindset and student engagement. The current opening is in the Upper School (9th – 12th) with Precalculus and AP Statistics most likely part of the position. The teaching assignment can also change from year to year, including teaching in the Middle School division (7th and 8th), based on the department’s needs and teachers’ strengths. Technology is integrated extensively throughout the curriculum including TI-Nspire handhelds in Algebra 2/Trig and higher, web-based programs such as Aleks and IXL in many of the Middle School courses, and interactive programs such as Desmos, Kahoot, Edpuzzle, and Socrative. This is a great chance to be part of a dynamic, close-knit, independent school culture, and community! For more info about this incredible opportunity, click here!
