“Please Bring Back Hope 2 Jackson”: Deion Sanders’ Stolen Boombox Returned With Pleading Note From Fan
|
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on January 26, 2021 Deion Sanders is happy to finally have his boombox back after it was stolen earlier this week from his truck while parked outside of a hotel in Jackson. The Jackson State football coach took to social media on Monday to show that someone had busted out one of his car windows and stole a radio. Though a bit upset, Sanders said that he was less concerned about the damage and more concerned about getting the boombox back because it was a birthday gift with sentimental value. After making the incident public and pleading for the return of his prized possession, Sanders shared on Instagram that the boombox had been returned on Tuesday. Sanders says the radio was left outside of a JSU campus gate along with an interesting note. The note read, “They say they didn't know, but I ain't trippin' over no bread. Just please bring back hope (to) Jackson. A winning season would be great.” The note also included the phone number of the individual who returned the stolen item. Even through the bizarre turn of events, Sanders expressed nothing but love for the city of Jackson and the people that live there. “Jackson, Mississippi, I just wanna tell y'all something, man," he said. "I love you, I appreciate you, I'm proud of you, and the thing I admire most ... is how we all came together.” A spokesperson for the Jackson Police Department says that the burglary of Sanders’ car is just one of a string of car burglaries that occurred in the area on Monday. While the department has several leads, no arrests in connection with the incident have been made at this time.
