Make Good Things At GE Appliances: Appliance leader looking for diverse graduates and students.

Posted By: Loren Moss on January 27, 2021 When you think of job opportunities for software engineers, a software company probably comes to mind. Expand that view with GE Appliances. Many, if not most of us, grew up with appliances in our homes but it’s likely you took the technology initiating a rinse cycle for granted. Stop and imagine the creativity, the engineering and the design behind that touchscreen, touchpad, or knob. Embedded software and smart apps control almost everything that consumes energy in the modern home. GE Appliances Stats to Consider 45% of management hires are people of color 42% of management hires are female GOAL: 40% ethnic diversity and 40% female representation across the company in the next four years. As you evaluate next steps in your career, consider avenues beyond the obvious. GE Appliances, headquartered in Louisville, Ky., has kept its place as an industry leader over the years with a rich history that goes back all the way to Thomas Edison and Lewis Latimer (above). With operations in almost every U.S. state and Puerto Rico, find openings in exciting fields like robotics, prototyping, embedded systems, process improvement, and even mobile apps – all with the intention of manufacturing refrigerators, cooktops, ovens, dishwashers, washers and dryers. Named one of the top internships two years in a row by WayUp, students also have many career-inciting opportunities– from co-ops and internships, to its Edison Engineering Development Program (mechanical engineering and software tracks) as well as marketing and commercial development opportunities.
