The Home Depot’s “Retool Your School” To Donate $1 Million To Improve HBCU Campuses
|
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on February 17, 2021 The Home Depot recently announced that it will be contributing $1 million in grants to support HBCU across the country through its annual “Retool Your School” program. The program provides a way for HBCU students and alumni to give back by celebrating their favorite HBCU and voting through social media and a voting portal. The top 10 schools with the most votes are awarded grant money to improve their campuses. According to Derek Bottoms, chief diversity, equity & inclusion officer for The Home Depot, “Since 2009, The Home Depot has continued to increase its investment in campus improvements for HBCUs. In addition to other HBCU initiatives supported by The Home Depot over the years, we are doubling our Retool Your School commitment to $1 million for 2021. We are ensuring that, upon their return to campus, HBCU students have an upgraded environment that enhances their educational experience as they progress on their journey to become the next generation of leaders.” To find out more about the Retool Your School program and how you can help your favorite HBCU, visit retoolyourschool.com.
