HBCUHOTELS.COM Seeks to Bring Affordability, Transparency, and Peace of Mind
to HBCU Event Attendees

March 9, 2020, Dallas, TX – Recently during the start of the Covid-19
pandemic this 30-year hospitality industry veteran and HBCU alum
(Alabama A&M University) Mr. Bobby” SWOB-BOB” Demby launched
HBCUHotels.com – a website that provides clients with the best possible
hotel room rates for their annual homecoming and sports classic events.
Alumni and friends of HBCUs have become increasingly frustrated with
hotels that charge exorbitant room rates and miscellaneous fees during
HBCU annual events and celebrations.

While it is common practice for
hoteliers to increase their prices during high-demand times, it has been alleged that in
many cases, they are charging significantly more than for other city-wide or widely
attended events. This practice adversely effects HBCU event attendees by pricing many
out of the experience (especially younger alumni), not to mention lending itself to the
appearance of discriminatory behavior.
Demby utilizes his years of hospitality sales knowledge and stellar reputation with
hoteliers and customers to negotiate reasonable rates offered through the website. This
will be a needed tool when the world opens back up, as many events were cancelled or
delivered virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. HBCUs are looking forward to the
opportunity to welcome back alumni and friends for 2021 festivities.
Events currently under contract include: Magic City Classic, Columbus Classic, Turkey
Day Classic, Labor Day Classic and over 25 HBCU Homecomings in various cities. While
all events are not yet available on the website, negotiations are taking place to hopefully
allow the site to offer all HBCU alumni and friends great rates at reputable hotels.
