Millennial and HBCU Graduate Builds Multi-Million Dollar Real Estate Portfolio on Chicago’s Southside!

Millennial and HBCU Graduate Builds Multi-Million Dollar Real Estate Portfolio on Chicago’s Southside!
Posted By: TLG Development, LLC on March 16, 2021

Eugene Lee, 32, HBCU Grad and US Army Veteran acquires third multifamily building on Chicago’s Southside Bronzeville neighborhood, demonstrating the importance of “owning our own.”

CHICAGO, BRONZEVILLE, 13 MARCH — Eugene Lee, owner of TLG Development LLC has just acquired another multifamily building on Chicago's Southside. Further, demonstrating his commitment to the Southside and making a point that young black millennials are, indeed, focused on building generational wealth as well as investing in our own communities.

"Coming out of a year like 2020 where tenant/landlord relationships were strained across the nation, having property owners who genuinely understand what people are going through during this pandemic, is vitally important."

Eugene, who is a Detroit native, understands far too well the lack of representation in real estate ownership within black and brown communities. As someone who was raised by a single mother himself, Eugene, has not forgotten the tenets of his upbringing and what his experience was like growing up.

Based on this article, you may think Eugene has been in Chicago for a while.

In fact, he has only lived in the city for less than 4 years. However, Eugene quickly realized the potential offered on Chicago's Southside and moved quickly to seize it.

Acquiring his first Chicago property in 2018, a 4-unit multifamily building in the Washington Park neighborhood; subsequently, acquiring a 2-unit multifamily building in early 2020 in Bronzeville, and more recently acquiring a beautiful new construction 3-unit multifamily building in the heart of Bronzeville (pictured above). Eugene, also owns property in a West Valley suburb of Phoenix, Arizona (in a predominantly black and brown community).

A graduate of Central State University, an HBCU in Central Ohio. Eugene is also a military veteran, who served 11 years in the Ohio Army National Guard in various roles such as Scout, Infantryman, Bradley Commander, and Howitzer Section Chief. During his commitment to our country, he served in Afghanistan as a machine gunner where he earned a Combat Infantryman’s Badge (CIB) and Army Commendation Medal.

TLG Development LLC will continue to focus their attention on acquiring assets in underserved communities and improving the tenant living experience.
