Posted By: Reggie Culpepper on March 18, 2021 Ford Motor Company Fund announces its third annual HBC-You Mobility Challenge. Ford is inviting students, alumni, faculty and staff at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to submit innovative proposals on smart mobility for a chance to win grants of up to $25,000. The challenge is open and accepting proposals at https://fgb.life/hbc-you. The first-place winner will receive a one-time grant of up to $25,000 and the runner up will receive up to $10,000 for their school toward program implementation. Deadline to submit entries is March 31, 2021. Winners will be announced in May. Proposals must address the theme, “Making Lives Better: Changing the Way We Move Through Smart Mobility.” Past winners include Morgan State University and Langston University (first place), Talladega College (second place), Texas Southern University and Prairie View A&M University (honorable mention). With the theme “Making Lives Better: Changing the Way We Move Through Smart Mobility,” the challenge was created to empower HBCU students, alumni, faculty and administrators to collaborate on creating and implementing sustainable solutions that address unmet needs and improve the lives of individuals within their communities. Since its inception, the Ford HBC-You Challenge has contributed $60,000 in grants to HBCUs.
