PVAMU Becomes First HBCU With A Doctoral Business Administration Program

Posted By: Kennedy Williams on March 23, 2021 PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (March 15, 2021) – The College of Business (COB) at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) is poised to expand its academic programs by offering a new Doctor of Business Administration (DBA). After three years of planning and preparation, PVAMU’s DBA proposal earned approvals from the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The Southern Association for Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) academic accrediting agencies have reviewed and approved the new program. Accreditation by AACSB International signifies an institution has met the most rigorous standards of excellence in business education. “The DBA will help us engage more closely with the Houston business community. We expect that the graduates of this program will go on to become business leaders with greater research and analytical skills, college professors, and academic leaders,” said Munir Quddus, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Business. The DBA program is set to launch in the fall of 2021 and will be based at PVAMU’s Northwest Houston Center and will offer professionals and executives an opportunity for a high-quality education to further their careers in an increasingly complex and data-driven global economy.
