Superbowl Champion Patrick Mahomes Commits to Support The HBCU Legacy Bowl!

Posted By: Will Moss on March 25, 2021 Patrick Mahomes announced on Thursday that his charitable foundation 15 and Mahomies has made a multi-year commitment to support the HBCU Legacy Bowl. The game will be played for the first time in 2022 as a postseason All-Star showcase featuring NFL draft-eligible players from historically Black colleges and universities. The NFL, Tulane and the Black College Hall of Fame are partners with the game that will take place the Saturday after the Super Bowl at Tulane's Yulman Stadium. Black College Football Hall of Fame co-founder Doug Williams praised Mahomes' commitment to the game. “A leader on and off the field," Williams said, per Thursday's announcement. "Thank you Patrick for supporting Historically Black Colleges & Universities.” Details of the commitment were not included in the announcement. Williams, an executive for the Washington Football team, was the first Black quarterback to lead a Super Bowl victory with Washington's win over the Denver Broncos in 1988.
