Fisk University Launches New Master’s Program in Healthcare Management

Posted By: Kennedy Williams on April 09, 2021 The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) recently approved Fisk University’s new Master’s program in Healthcare Management. This Master’s program is designed to provide healthcare professionals and those interested in managing healthcare services, with business, management, and leadership skills. The new program is designed to be completed in 18 months and will require students to complete 36 credit hours, offering prospective students an accelerated timeline to complete their degree. The program will include collaborative teaching with industry practitioners, practice-based skills, and experiential learning opportunities. The University plans to enroll the first students in the program in August 2021. According to the University President Dr. Vann Newkirk, Sr., “The addition of the Health Care Management strengthens our outstanding graduate school by offering a quality and affordable education to practitioners in the field and allows the University to reach new markets and expand in a city like Nashville that is known for healthcare.” Graduates of the program will have the opportunity to move into careers including healthcare administration, healthcare management and training, healthcare marketing, healthcare economics, health law, and health IT.
